Nothing Better than a New Friend

This past weekend I got to meet up with my first ever blogger friend.  It's funny how life happens sometimes.  I saw Jenny over at Sew Wonderful quilting this beautiful bright bold quilt and thought it was one of her curved ruler quilts but it turned out to be somebody else's and I clicked on the link  that led me to Fabrics and Flowers. There were already a bunch of comments asking Sharon, the author of the blog, for the pattern and it turned out to be an original and she was working on the pattern for it.  A month past and she completed the pattern and was planning a QAL for it.  I commented telling her how awesome that was and from my email address which is a osu.edu,  she contacted me telling me she lived very close and that she would love to have me over to sew.  I was super excited, jumping up and down and couldn't wait.  The hubby was less enthusiastic being a worry wart with the whole stranger danger lecture.  I told him she has a blog which is completely different from Craig's List.  I got up the nerve and I decided I was going for it and couldn't be more happier.  We had so much fun together and we're already planning lots of road trips together.  It's so much fun to have a new friend and its even better when it's a quilty friend.  Sharon is super talented and has quite a few of her own patterns.  She also teaches at a local quilt shop.  I can't wait to do lots more sewing with her and I know I can learn so much from her.

I did get some sewing done in between all the chatting we did.  I made my 6th block for the APQ Quilt Along.

I was also able to get this beauty done over the weekend.  It's my Stash Bee January Block.

For today I need to work on the items for the Sew and Heart Swap and a secret project using some of Aneela Hoey's new line Hello Petals.  Thanks for stopping by, I'm linking up over at Freshly Pieced.

  1. You are so sweet! I am so glad we could meet up. Your scrappy square blocks from the APQ are so wonderful, I'm glad I get to watch the progress on Sunday Mornings.
